Xiaomi is launching a special phone for the World Cup, Argentina…in India

Xiaomi today unveiled its newest phone which is a collaboration with the Argentina national football team. It is a special edition of the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G phone, called the World Champions Edition, and available in limited edition in…India. Xiaomi’s bizarre decision was made on the occasion of the brand’s 10th anniversary in the Indian market, and the phone comes in a configuration of 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, at a price of 35,999 Indian rupees (about 400 euros).

The phone has a back inspired by the Argentina national team kit, with the blue and white stripes of the shirt printed on the area below the camera. Also present is the number 10, written in gold – the number of Lionel Messi, the captain who led Argentina to the title at the last World Cup. You can also see the three stars, which mark the three World Championships won by La Albiceleste, and the interface has a lock screen, icons and wallpapers specially designed for this phone.

Of course, the box the phone comes in also features the motifs of the South American national team, being blue in color, as is a USB-C cable available inside. Even the 120W charger available in the box features the AFA (Argentina Football Association) logo and the three stars, also inscribed in gold. And the key for accessing the SIM card is golden and slightly larger than the usual ones, with the logo of Argentina on it.

As for the specifications of the phone, we have nothing new there. It’s a 6.67-inch OLED, with a 120Hz refresh rate and a brightness that goes up to 1800 nits. Inside is a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra processor, with a 5000mAh battery and charging, of course, at 120W with the charger in the box. The phone’s chassis has IP68 dust and water resistance, and there are three sensors on the back, the largest of which is 200MP.
