Infinix, the newest phone brand entering Romania

--

Infinix is a phone manufacturer that officially entered Romania with a portfolio consisting, for now, of five phones with affordable prices.

Infinix is part, along with Tecno, of the Transsion Group of companies which is number 4 in the market by the number of phones sold, behind Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi, according to IDC data presented by the company.

Infinix was launched in 2013 in Africa, and in 2016 they were already present in more than 30 countries in Africa, Asia or Latin America. Now the brand is present in 8 regions and over 70 countries, and from now on also in Romania where the target is 2% market share in the last quarter of the year. In many countries in Africa it is in the top three, but in Tunisia and Pakistan they are the number 1 brand.

The positioning of the brand is one of the “best value for money” type, which is also seen in the phones that will be available on the market.

The Infinix phones that will be available are from the Hot, Note and Smart series. The cheapest phones start at 450 lei and the most expensive reach 1500 lei.

What is very interesting is that Infinix wants to give the consumer everything they could possibly need in one package. Thus, regardless of the phone, the package contains a charger, cable, wired headphones, cover and even a screen protector that you attach yourself.

The phones will be sold at retailers such as eMAG, Carrefour, Auchan. Those from Infinix hope to enter the operators as well.

A phone that caught my attention is the Infinix Note 40 Pro which has a 6.7-inch FHD AMOLED screen with a variable refresh rate of 120 Hz, has 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage and is equipped with the Mediatek Helio G99 processor Ultimate. It has three cameras on the back, but one is important, the wide 108 MP one, and the selfie camera is 32 MP. The battery is large at 5000 mAh and it charges quickly at 70 watts wired, but it also has magsafe wireless charging at 20 W and the sound is JBL certified. All these things together make for an interesting proposition especially considering the price. For example, in this category you never find wireless charging, especially the Magsafe type.
