Human Mobile Devices (HMD) has unveiled its first range of smartphones under its own brand: HMD Pulse Pro, HMD Pulse+ and HMD Pulse.

The HMD Pulse collection comes with sleek design, great color tones and modern aesthetics, but they are affordable and serviceable devices.

“We have our finger on the pulse of a new generation (of mobile phones). We recognize consumer needs and anticipate market trends; repairability is the cornerstone of a new chapter in smartphone history. Forget the old conventions, because a new era of smartphone sophistication is beginning, where things really make sense.”

HMD Pulse Collection

Every device in the new HMD Pulse range is designed to be repairable at home: what HMD calls “Generation 1 of repairable devices”. Specifically, mobile phone owners can replace a cracked screen, a bent charging port, or a battery that won’t hold a charge without the need for any qualifications. Users can simply purchase a repair kit from iFixit partners.

“HMD has just announced its fourth repairable device: the HMD Pulse Pro. Their continued commitment to designing phones that take into account the need to be more easily spotted is an encouraging change in our culture of disposable devices. Which proves that HMDs have the innovative mindset needed to accelerate advances in repairability. We look forward to becoming partners in their mission to make repairable phones the norm, not the exception.”

HMD Pulse Pro

The HMD Pulse Pro has a top-notch 50 MP front camera. The “Selfie Gesture Navigation” function can be started with two fingers in greeting. This way pictures can be taken with a simple movement of the hand, or “hands-free”, imitating a heart with the fingers, pointing the thumb up or raising both hands – perfect for group selfies. For nighttime selfies, the smartphone features ‘AI Super Portrait’ mode, which ensures optimal brightness.

HMD Pulse Pro is available in three electrifying shades: Glacier Green, Twilight Purple and Black Ocean. And the colors don’t stop at the phone: the Pulse Pro Glacier Green has a matching charger, sold separately.

HMD Pulse+ and HMD Pulse

HMD Pulse Pro’s smaller siblings, HMD Pulse+ and HMD Pulse, offer up to 59 hours of battery life, are also part of the “1st Generation of Discoverable Devices” and come in the same three shades.

The HMD Pulse+, which can be purchased at a price of 699 lei, has a 50 MP main camera and a high-quality depth of field sensor, while the HMD Pulse, achieves the perfect balance between affordability, performance and repairability . With a 13 MP camera that comes with an inbuilt AI HDR feature and automatic skin tone optimizations, the HMD Pulse costs just 599 lei.

With top specs at a mid-range price, the HMD Pulse family aims to make smartphones affordable for everyone.

HMD Pulse+ and HMD Pulse will be available starting in May and HMD Pulse Pro will be available at a later date.

HMD (Human Mobile Devices) also produces smartphones under the Nokia brand, starting production of Nokia 5G phones in Europe last year.
