Daniel Sandu is the new sports director at Rapid

As GSP.ro exclusively wrote on Thursday, Daniel Sandu will take over this position. He has a sports master’s degree in Bordeaux and will replace Sorin Boiangiu (47 years old) at the course for sports directors specially started by the FRF.

Daniel Sandu gave the first reaction after being appointed to this position, via the Facebook page of the people of Giulești.

My job description doesn’t just include the player recruiting part. I have to make sure that everything both around the team and in the team is in order. I mean from the medical staff, to the training camps, to the behavior of the players or even the staff, as far as physical training or data tracking is concerned.

What I try to implement is that the decisions of the coaches or the future scouting team are based on some very clear rationales. We have to figure out exactly what we’re looking for and what we want from both the players and the staff, and I think this is a pretty optimistic start, because the moment we’re in right now is not a very good one. I hope that from next season we will take everything from the beginning and show our true worth

Sources close to the club explained the reason for choosing Șucu: “Sandu is a professional and knows the players very well. He was the first to make contact with them, before they were brought. He will be the key man, the interface between the club and players, coaches, the rest of the team employees.

Daniel Sandu has already prepared a team of scouts and will continue to supervise it, but from the position of sports director.
