Live on Orange Sport, being asked by the moderator Silviu Tudor Samuilă, Ovidiu Herea (39 years old) spoke about the possibility of Mircea Rednic becoming a coach at Rapid. “Puriul” has had a very good season with UTA, in the play-out, with whom he has no emotions at relegation.

Ovidiu Herea gave the verdict regarding Mircea Rednic, but said that he does not think that the experienced coach is taken into account, at least for the moment, for the technical bench of Rapid. The former footballer from Giulesti emphasized one of the qualities of coach Mircea Rednic.

Silviu Tudor Samuilă, the moderator of the Sport Center show, asked Ovidiu Herea about the possibility of Mircea Rednic being a coach at Rapid, in the conditions where the Giulești team is looking for a replacement for Cristiano Bergodi. The former coach of Rapid gave the verdict: “Puriul” is a coach with the right profile for what Rapid is now looking for, but he does not think that he will be taken into account by Dan Şucu and Victor Angelescu.

“Yes, he has been there before. He has experience, he knows how to manage these crisis situations. I don’t know what to say, I think there are other management options at the moment. Let’s see if Mircea Lucescu will also accept this offer”said Ovidiu Herea, at Orange Sport.

Mircea Rednic coached Rapid between December 1998 and the summer of 2001, then between May 2002 and December 200, being the last coach with whom the Giulești team won the title of champions.

“Puriul” has a contract with UTA until the summer of 2025.
