It’s a good month for games. April brought games like Rise of the Ronin and Stellar Blade, and the combo continues in May with a similarly-styled game: Ghost of Tsushima coming to PC.
MOTOGP 24
May 2, all platforms. Do you want motorcycle racing? The official game about the motorcycle championship in the 2024 edition is released.
V RISING
May 8, PC. A vampire action game with an isometric perspective. You are a vampire awakened after a sleep of centuries (probably after a party in honor) and must fight to survive.
HOMEWORLD 3
May 10, PC. I don’t know if you still remember the first two Homeworlds, but they are games that wrote history. Real-time strategy with spaceships in a 3D scenario? It was practically unheard of until the launch of the H1.
The game also came with large and small ships, formations you can arrange them in, many tactical options and good ideas. It was also a difficult game, especially the second half. The third part is coming now on the same principle and I hope it will be good, I haven’t played a well thought out strategy for a long time.
THE ROGUE PRINCE OF PERSIA
May 14, PC. Prince of Persia is having a major revival, with the second game of the year in this universe. This is a bit more cartoonish, drawn in a different style than the game from a few months ago, and from the gameplay I’ve seen it has a faster, fight-oriented playstyle that takes less time.
It also has roguelike elements, say the producers. I like music. However, the release is in Early Access. Although I put it on this list, I’d say you’re better off getting Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, which is excellent.
Why is Rogue Prince only on PC, even though it looks like a glove fit for consoles? I do not know.
MEN OF WAR 2
May 15, PC. Another RTS strategy game set in WWII with separate campaigns for the Russians, Americans and Germans.
GHOST OF TSUSHIMA DIRECTOR’S CUT
May 16, PC. What more is there to say? The until now exclusive PlayStation super game is finally being ported to PC. The Director’s Cut also includes its expansion, so you get the whole package. If the port is good, it could be one of the best PC games this year.
WORLD OF GOO 2
May 23, PC. This is a game in a style I wouldn’t normally pay attention to, but the first in the series was famous for its inventiveness. Probably many have played it, and now (some 15 years later?) another one comes out.
F1 24
May 31, all platforms. Do you want Formula 1 racing? The official game about the Formula 1 championship comes out. All Codemasters, probably the same engine with annual improvements, updated drivers and cars, etc.
