Blizzard, now under the tutelage of Microsoft, announces that it will no longer hold its traditional gaming event this year.

BlizzCon 2024 will not take place, Blizzard announced, without giving a clear reason for the decision.
This annual event was used by the legendary manufacturer to present news related to its own games, from World of Warcraft to Diablo.
The company isn’t saying why it decided not to hold BlizzCon this year, but promises that it’s just a one-time loss and BlizzCon will return in future years.
Instead of BlizzCon, the developer says it will hold several other smaller events throughout the year to talk to media and fans about the games.
2024 is an important year for Blizzard, as it marks the 30th anniversary of the release of World of Warcraft, a game that is getting a new episode this year, called The War Within.
BlizzCon was launched in 2005 and has been held in most years since then. It was canceled during the pandemic years and around the scandal caused by the harassment lawsuits that affected Activision.
