Here’s what you can treat with beeswax!

--

Beeswax is a natural substance that bees produce to build honeycombs in the hive, where they store honey and pollen. Once created, the wax is collected and then used for various purposes, such as in the production of cosmetics, medicines and pharmaceuticals.

It contains esters and fatty acids, with emollient and moisturizing properties and small amounts of proteins, vitamins and minerals (vitamins A and E), potassium and zinc.

Depending on the color, beeswax is divided into: first-quality wax, white-yellow in color, second-quality wax, yellow-brown in color and third-quality wax, orange-brown in color closed.

Soothing in joint pain

Beeswax has an anti-inflammatory effect, so it can be used to relieve pain and mild inflammation. A 2014 study found that it eases inflammation caused by osteoarthritis, reduces joint pain and stiffness. To massage the affected areas, use a beeswax that melts at a low temperature and gently massage the painful areas. Massage also contributes to releasing muscle tension, combating stress and promoting general relaxation.

Cure for rough skin

With moisturizing and emollient properties, beeswax helps repair rough, dry and cracked skin without clogging pores. You can use it daily at home to prevent dry skin. For maximum effects, prepare your own home remedy with natural products. Just mix melted beeswax with a few drops of almond oil or jojoba oil and a few drops of vitamin E oil and aloe vera and apply on the affected area.

Moisturizes the lips

During the cold season, lips are prone to cracking, and beeswax enhances the healing process through its emollient, nourishing and antibacterial properties. You can apply it in the form of a balm, which is prepared from a cup and a half of wax, 1 cup of coconut or olive oil and a few drops of essential oil, for flavor. Melt the beeswax in a pot, add the base oil, and when you turn off the heat, add the essential oil. After it has solidified, close the balm in containers and apply it to the lips as often as needed. Also, to heal chapped lips, you can apply a generous layer of honey on your lips, leave it for 30 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water.

Fades stretch marks

Beeswax helps reduce stretch marks that appear on the body due to the decrease in collagen and elastic fibers. That’s because the product contains vitamin A, which is useful in collagen production. You can use it by combining it with royal jelly, shea or cocoa butter, grape seed oil and coconut oil. You mix all the ingredients in a bowl and apply the remedy to the problem areas.

Adjuvant in dermatitis

Beeswax can be used to combat diaper dermatitis, an irritation that occurs in infants and children in the genital-buttock area. In mild cases, an ointment of 2 parts beeswax and 2 parts sweet almond oil is applied. The mixture is melted, left to cool and applied to clean and dry skin.
