The company inaugurates the new generation of smart phones with the appearance of the Motorola Edge 50 Pro model. An attractive mid-range from the top of the category. From which I would have had slightly higher expectations in terms of technical specifications. But that is exactly what makes this appearance all the more interesting, where I seem to foresee pleasant surprises. Anyway, from the level of technical specifications, a constancy is noticeable on all levels. No aspect was ignored. I can’t wait for a review.
The phone is built around a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset from Qualcomm. There are two possible combinations at the memory level. A slightly more affordable one, with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. And a more attractive one, with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage.
There is no microSD card slot, and the operating system is an almost clean Android 14.
The Motorola Edge 50 Pro is equipped with a 6.7-inch OLED display. A panel with curved side edges with a resolution of 1220 x 2712 pixels, a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a peak brightness of 2000 nits. It offers support for HDR10+ and integrates the fingerprint reader below it. It is protected with an unspecified generation of Gorilla Glass. The terminal also has an IP68 certification.
A discreet, centrally positioned hole hides a front camera equipped with a 50 MP sensor.
On the back we have a photo system composed of three cameras. The main sensor has a resolution of 50 MP. It is assisted by a 10 MP telephoto (3x optical zoom) and a 13 MP ultrawide.
Autonomy is ensured by a battery with a capacity of 4500 mAh. It offers support for 125W fast charging.
The Motorola Edge 50 Pro comes in Luxe Lavender and Black Beauty color variants. Plus a limited edition Moonlight Pearl, made in collaboration with the Italian fashion house Mazzucchelli 1849. The device is launched precisely in India, where it sells for around $380 and $430, respectively, depending on the memory combination you opt for.
