Panic in Galati county, after people saw several lights in the sky. Locals think it’s drones

There was panic on Monday evening in Galati county, after several lights were observed in the sky. People think that it is about drones, and they could be seen from several locations in the county, including the town of Smârdan, where a NATO military training ground is located.

Until this moment there is no confirmation from the authorities or a warning through a Ro-Alert message. We remind you that just four days ago, the remains of a crashed drone were discovered approximately 10 kilometers from the city of Brăila.

The drone that disintegrated upon impact with the ground formed a huge crater. It fell in the area of ​​an agricultural farm in Insula Mare a Brailei, quite close to the city. In the photos taken immediately after the explosion, on a piece of the fuselage you can see the inscription in Cyrillic characters “Don’t touch!”.

The aircraft traveled about 23 kilometers on the territory of our country before it crashed, around 10 p.m. The area was immediately filled with police, military and SRI officers. Access roads were blocked and an army helicopter flew over the entire area. However, the authorities have provided little information.

“Fragments that seem to come from an aerial device, possibly a drone, have been identified on an agricultural land in Insula Mare a Brăilei”, said Corneliu Pavel, MApN spokesman. The landowner says he didn’t see anything suspicious last night. “Nothing was heard, these people from the specialized department are on the spot. Nothing flew in the sky last night”, declared the head of the agricultural farm.

Six drones fell on Romanian territory

At the end of the investigation, the authorities called a bulldozer to cover the crater. And from the imprint of the freshly placed earth here, it is clearly understood and seen that that crater had a diameter of at least 4 meters.

It is the sixth drone that has fallen on the territory of our country since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, most of them in Tulcea county. Only one of them had explosives. The rest, according to the military authorities, were surveillance drones. Three of these fell, in a 10-day interval, on the territory of our country, in September of last year.
