It’s been a while since Nokia or rather HMD Global it hasn’t released a true flagship phone before. It is clear that things are about to change, since Nokia has just refreshed its logo and now sources say that it would even prepare a flagship. The name Nokia Magic Max was circulating among the rumours.
The company would be preparing its first flagship for 4 years now, Nokia Magic Max. Rumor has it that backstage at MWC 2023, behind closed doors, a lucky few got to see the Magic Max, alongside a midrange phone, the Nokia C99. The latter is expected to debut on April 28, 2023, but another rumor places it only in the fall, on November 18, 2023. The phone would cost $480.
Nokia Magic Max however, we are interested in something more and we learn that it will arrive in 3 memory configurations: 8 GB, 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM, plus 256 or 512 GB of storage. It will debut with Android 13 pre-installed and a processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 inside. We could also see a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen on board, with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The rear photo sensor, 144 megapixels, along with a 64 MP ultrawide and a 48 MP telephoto one, also sounds original.
A huge battery of 7950mAh what appears from the same source makes me think that the phone doesn’t even exist or is just a concept. Possibly a tablet, with such a battery. Apparently the battery charges from zero to 100% in a few minutes, receiving charging at 180W. The starting price is not bad either, at 550 dollars. I personally think that this Magic Max is just a speculation and that the features are too optimistic.
