The directorate of the Oltenia Energy Complex announced on Friday, May 10, that it took note of the legal situation of director Cătălin Liviu Stănculescu, director of the Energy Department, and decided to suspend the individual employment contract.
Considering the current situation in which Mr. Cătălin Liviu Stănculescu finds himself, “The Directorate of the Oltenia Energy Complex believes that it is in the interest of the institution to act in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations. With this decision, Complexul Energetic Oltenia reiterates its firm commitment to complying with the law and promoting integrity in all aspects of its activity. We note that our institution attaches great importance to compliance with all legal and ethical regulations, and any action that would violate these principles is treated seriously and promptly. We assure our partners, employees and the community that we will respect the decisions of the authorities and we will collaborate whenever necessary for the continuation of the activity in a legal, responsible and efficient framework”, said the CEO.
Cătălin Stănculescu is accused by the DNA prosecutors of having received a bribe of 13,000 euros from a businessman, in order to expedite the payment of outstanding invoices to the latter’s company, and was detained, in April, for 24 hours. At the moment, the Oltenia Energy Complex is managed by only three members in the directorate and with the deputy director, Marian Motocu, at the Energy Directorate left without a head.
