In the last decades of the 2000s, Iulia Frațilă, one of the most noted female appearances on television, suddenly disappeared from the spotlight after receiving a harsh verdict from the doctors. The former presenter now leads a beautiful life away from Romania, in the United States.

Iulia Frațilă, 45 years old, former Miss Constanța from 1993 and former Miss Romania participant, took a break from television in 2008, after being diagnosed with fibrocystic mastosis.

She was known for her collaborations in the shows led by Florin Călinescu and for her presence in shows like “Roata Norocului” and the morning show on Prima TV.

In 2003, she became the first woman to present a sports talk show, “Fotbal din Prima”, and in 2007 she moved to a news station, where she produced the show “Firu-n patru”.

“When I was diagnosed and had to decide which treatment method to use, I kept thinking about what I should change in my life. And I came to the conclusion that I don’t give myself time at all”, said Iulia in a previous interview.

After a full recovery without surgery, Iulia and her husband, plastic artist Radu Runcanu, moved first to Spain and then to the United States, where Iulia began working with autistic children in 2011.

She earned a master’s degree in psychology in 1995 and has been counseling families of children with autism spectrum disorders for nine years.

Iulia chose a discreet life, dedicating herself completely to children with special needs. Her recent photos show a woman who hasn’t changed much since she was a well-known presence on television, according to okmagazine.ro.

“I have been working with people with autism spectrum disorders in the US for 9 years. I offer free counseling to the families of children with ASD during the crisis generated by COVID-19”, wrote Iulia on her Facebook page Romania Autism Project by Iulia Runcanu.
