A father above all else, proud of his child’s achievements

Four Prague swimmers represent us at the European swimming competitions in Serbia and Lithuania. It is about four children from Câmpina, who got to know the swimming pool from an early age and who today perform wherever they go.

Iarina Cojocaru and Luca Marinescu are the two swimming champions, who will compete at the Cup of Central European Countries, which takes place in Belgrade, Serbia, from July 12-14. Two other athletes, Ștefan Cojocaru and Darius Coman, will participate in the European Junior Championship in Vilnius, Lithuania, from July 2-7.

The children are trained by Gabriel Cojocaru, from the Barracuda club in Câmpina.

All four athletes are performers who always strived to “beat” the water in record time. Teenagers aware of the fact that “in swimming you only hear the start whistle, there is no finish whistle”. And between start and finish there is always passion.

What do they want from European competitions? To make Romania’s name heard and to show that performance means a lot of work. All intertwined with ambition, determination and dedication. Regardless of the sacrifices. Many in number.
