Business from Zero. Bogdan Mitulescu organizes parties for children under the brand…

With corporate experience, in banking and energy companies, and with an active MBA, Bogdan Mitulescu took the courage to develop his own business in 2023, under the name Nature Parties by Beautiful Minds. Thus, he, together with a team of five people, organizes parties for children

in a space of 6,000 square meters in the Pipera area of ​​Bucharest. The initial investment was around 60,000 euros and includes a swimming pool, an orchard, a sports field, mini farm with animals and climbing areas. In the first full year of activity, in 2024, the entrepreneur expects a turnover of around 150,000 euros. “We organize parties in nature for children, hence the name Nature Parties, but we also have two kindergartens, where Beautiful Minds comes from, being an older business and we preferred to use this name to capture the strength of the existing business brand. We have been in business for seven years with the two kindergartens, we had know-how in the area of ​​children’s parties, and in 2023 we thought of entering the area of ​​children’s events”, said Bogdan Mitulescu. The space is rented, and the parties are organized only on weekends, one for each day. During the rest of the week, the program is occupied by the kindergarten. Currently, the parties are only outdoors, but the entrepreneur wants to expand with a space that allows indoor events. “The party business is new, it has started producing, it’s very promising, but we want to stay in the weekend niche because then parents have more time to organize events. We want to expand, currently we only do one party every weekend. In the future, we intend to have two parties every weekend, but that will probably be in 2025”, Bogdan Mitulescu also said.

The investment of 60,000 euros went mainly in the renovation of the exterior space. The season for Nature Parties starts in April and ends in October, but what matters is the weather. Lately, the high temperatures have increased the period in which parties could be organized to eight to nine months.

“The world learns about us from the website, Facebook page, Instagram. Also, the parents of the children from the kindergarten know us, we are there, they know the locations, how we behave with the children, what we offer the children and then it is again a line of business for us”, said the entrepreneur.

The maximum capacity of the parties organized under the Nature Parties logo is 70 people, children and parents, and the team led by Bogdan Mitulescu takes care of the whole concept, from the reception of the guests to the activities with the children. The price for this concept is 5,500 lei for the complete package.

“We offer an “all inclusive” party, meaning the parent only has to bring the cake and we take care of the rest. We have a minimum group of 20 people, this is our requirement to be able to cover our costs. For 2025, we are analyzing the possibility of making some investments for indoor parties, to cover the winter months as well. We don’t use the kindergarten and I don’t want to use it either. The second plan is to invest as much as possible in the brand so that the world knows us”, said Bogdan Mitulescu.

He is also looking at expanding with a new party space, but says it is difficult to find a suitable space.

“In entrepreneurship, you learn every day by doing and watching others. For me, one of the models was also my wife, because she left the corporation earlier and helped me see how she manages her time and resources. The second aspect would be the corporate experience. I had the chance to work in several departments, in sales and finance. I also did an MBA which I completed in 2023 and I gained the courage to leave the corporation and dedicate myself 100% to entrepreneurship”, added Bogdan Mitulescu.
