The device was mounted in the center of the town, where there is also a school, where the speed limit is 30 km/h.
The limiter with sensors lowers into the asphalt if the driver is driving at the legal speed.
A sign will be installed in front of the smart threshold to warn drivers that they are following a sensor system.
“The system consists of some warning panels, sensors and a reducing threshold. Practically, this reducing threshold is raised when the sensors detect that the drivers respect the speed, this bumper lowers”, said Felix Horațiu Șerb, the director of the company that brought the technology to Romania.

The smart system was used for the first time in Mexico, and technicians from there came to make sure that the device installed in the commune of Snagov would work.
The company wants to test smart speed limiters in other cities in Romania.
