Football players from FC Hermannstadt and basketball players from CSU will participate on Thursday evening, at the opening of the new Obor sports base, located on the outskirts of Sibiu, near the square of the same name, the City Hall of Sibiu announced on Monday.
“We have completed the development works of the new sports base in the Obor Square area, on Calea Şurii Mari. It will be open to all Sibiu people to practice sports at a professional level or as a movement for health. The base will provide a football field with natural grass, a field for basketball and volleyball, one for mini-football and handball, 2 fields for tennis and two areas for table tennis. I invite the people of Sibiu on Thursday, May 9, from 6:00 p.m. to open this sports base together”, declared the mayor of Sibiu, Astrid Fodor.
The opening will be marked by demonstration matches of several Siberian sports teams.
“The program also includes basketball throwing and soccer and handball shooting contests, the best ones will also receive prizes. The atmosphere will be maintained by good music, and the MC of the event will be the well-known Sibian woman Nicolle Stănese. Therefore, young and old Sibiians, eager to practice sports, are waiting for the opening of the Obor Sports Base”, the press release of the Sibiu City Hall also states.
