The month of May brings to Sibiu a wave of events expected by both residents and tourists. VINO, Flowers on the Stairs, ARMONIA Disco&Retro Party or the Sibiu International Marathon are just some of the events that will take place in the last month of spring.
Below we have prepared a list of the main activities that we can do in our free time in May.
VINO 2024 – Music & Street Food Festival
Between Thursday, May 9 – Sunday, May 12, VINO returns to Sibiu, in the Youth Park. Connect-R, Grasu XXL and Argatu are just a few of the names of artists who will take part in the city center event.

Learn to ride a bike for free
The Urban Bike Revolution Association comes up with a new initiative to encourage cycling. Every Wednesday, from 5:30 p.m., in the Sub Arini park, Urban Bike will offer free cycling lessons for both adults and children.

Flowers on the Stairs
The city of Jos returns to the attention of Sibiu residents and tourists again with this year’s first edition of the Flowers on the Stairs festival. The theme of the fourth edition is Authentic, and the event is scheduled to take place between May 10 and 12, in Piața Aurarilor.

Soundscape Festival
On May 11, at Portal Village, the Soundscape Festival takes place.
The event includes, as follows:
– Extraordinary concert of flute, piano and violin with Radu Nechifor TRIO
– Party with mixes adapted to every moment of the day and night, a musical journey, both relaxing and dancing, with DJ LEJER – Vlad Mihăescu
– Maria Balabaș’s workshop with a sound journey in Nature, followed by an original performance, created ad hoc from the sounds recorded together
– The interpretive dance workshop supported by David and Isabela, art facilitators from PORTAL
– Mystical campfire

Alternosfera concert
Alternosfera, the alternative rock band founded in Chisinau, announces an anniversary tour on the occasion of the band’s 25th anniversary. After the news of the first unplugged tour in the history of the band, Alternosfera begins the series of anniversary concerts. The debut of the anniversary tour will take place on Friday, April 19, in Chisinau, and the band will also arrive in Brașov, Costinești, Sibiu, Cluj and Bucharest.
In Sibiu, the concert will take place on Friday, May 17, at 7 p.m., at Redal Expo.

White Mahala – “Inevitabil” album release
The new album of the White Mahala band, “Inevitabil”, continues and upgrades the first album, “Cosoșelul”, which enjoyed and continues to enjoy real success in all categories of the public, with hits such as “1000 glasses”, “E dracăsă prudă” mine” or “Sing the slum”.
The album launch will take place on Friday, May 24, at Oldies Pub.
Sibiu International Marathon
Sibiu will be on the move again at the Sibiu International Marathon, an event scheduled to take place on May 25 and 26.
HARMONY Disco&Retro
The HITs from the 90s and 2000s come to Sibiu again at ARMONIA Disco&Retro. The party will take place on May 25, from 10 p.m., at the Backyard.

Between May 29 and June 2, the biggest electronic music festival in Sibiu returns to Aleea Mihai Eminescu.

ESTE FILM Festival 2024, 8th edition
ESTE FILM Festival reaches its 8th edition and brings together again in Sibiu the cinephiles and filmmakers, in a celebration of European cinema.

Performances at the Gong Theater and the Radu Stanca National Theatre
“Elian’s Map”, “Little Red Riding Hood” or “Finger” are just some of the performances prepared for the little ones by the Gong Theatre. You can find their schedule here.

Hiking around Sibiu
Nature lovers are invited in May to a series of hikes prepared by those from Anii Drumeetii.
