Klaus Iohannis will turn 65 this year and is thinking about retirement. After submitting the file, the leader from Cotroceni will collect around 8,500 lei per month, according to the calculations of Anton Hadăr, the president of the National Trade Union Federation “Alma Mater”. According to the data provided by the specialists, the allowance that he will receive after the 10 years spent at the head of the State was not added to the pension assessment, Digi24.ro shows.

Klaus Iohannis is preparing to retire. Discussions on this subject gained momentum after the Head of State, as a former physics professor at the National College “Samuel von Brukenthal” from Sibiu, requested retirement, leaving the position vacant. The post has become vacant and can now be occupied by an incumbent after approximately 27 years of being reserved for the country’s president.

If it wasn’t for the presidency, I think he would have come out with a small pension of 5-6,000 lei as a high school teacher

The Head of State has accumulated 42 years of work, of which 10 represent the presidential activity. The years of the presidency will bring some additional money to his personal budget, in addition to the pension he will receive from month to month.

“I think it will take a little over 100 points, that means about 8,500 lei. He won’t get five figures, it will be a number consisting of four figures, so to speak, because during his teaching years, at the beginning of his career, until he became tenured, he had a very low salary. Salaries were then very low in education. Even in the area of the town hall it was not very well earned for a while, today it is earned better“, explained Anton Hadăr. Also the president of the National Trade Union Federation “Alma Mater” he added that: “If it wasn’t for the presidency, I think he would have come out with a small pension of 5-6,000 as a high school teacher, even if he would have remained an inspector.”.

The country’s president, Klaus Iohannis, will turn 65 on June 13.
