Additional measures when crossing the state border of Romania

--

The Territorial Inspectorate of the Timișoara Border Police continues, this week, the measures to supervise the state border and to streamline traffic at the crossing points, carried out in the special context of the celebration of the May 1st mini-holiday and the Orthodox Easter Holidays.

At the level of the inspectorate, border policemen carry out daily, during this period, surveillance and control activities at the state border. An example is the addition of staff planned for document control, adapted to the infrastructure of each point so that we can ensure operative control on both directions of travel, the institution’s press release states.

Equally, the control arteries will be supplemented in the direction of exit from the country or entry, as the case may be, up to the maximum capacity allowed by the infrastructure of the border crossing points. Also, if the situation requires it, mobile control stations will also be used.

The representatives of the Territorial Inspectorate of the Timișoara Border Police maintain permanent contact with the border authorities of the neighboring states, together with which they carry out border control, in order to arrange common measures.

For the next period, it is recommended that people who want to spend the Easter holidays outside the country’s borders should cross the national border through all the border points open in the international regime. At the Romanian-Hungarian border, 12 road-specific crossing points are open, and 8 crossing points are operational at the border with Serbia.
