Andra Cîrstoiu, the student from Târgu Jiu, who amazed the world at Robotics, wants to study in California. The decision is not set in stone, but he dreams of studying abroad and then returning to Romania.

Andra is a student in the tenth grade at Tudor Vladimirescu National College, from Târgu Jiu. He obtained the Dean’s List, an award that ensures admission to any college in America and almost any in Europe without taking any exams. “The competition is not only about robots. It’s about developing, learning and becoming the best version of ourselves. The Dean’s List was an award I really wanted. I couldn’t believe it. I was hearing my name and people were turning towards me and I wasn’t sure it was my name. It is an award that is given to leaders who manage to unite the team, make changes in the community, all this while having an academic performance. They are looking for people who embody the passion, thus appointing us ambassadors of this phenomenon”, the young woman testified.

He hasn’t 100% decided where he will go after high school, but he knows for sure that he wants to be out of the country. “I was looking at Berkeley University in California, but nothing is certain. The only thing I am 100% sure of is that no matter where I study, I will return to the country. I want to return all the experience that I have accumulated within the robotics phenomenon, and within the school, and everything that this country has given me, I want to return,” declared Andra.

Andra coordinates the Tea Borgs robotics team and was in America with Professor Eugen Nodea.
