Interest in real estate purchases increased slightly at the beginning of the second quarter of 2024, and the period before the holidays can accelerate purchases, according to Emil Bordei, co-founder and CEO of Imoneria, a Bucharest real estate agency specializing in the eastern part of the city .
“In January and February we had contracts, and in the last hundred meters many customers changed their minds. Since March, when the real estate spring begins, a greater interest was felt, but the customers were more qualified people. In the second quarter, the interest increased again, but it is known that during the holidays they assume a purchase if they manage to negotiate a better price”, said Emil Bordei on the online business show ZF Live.
Between the price of the apartment at the foundation stage and that of the finished apartment, the difference is at least 10%. Decreases were seen in the form of promotions rather than in the form of real discounts, as some developers tend to increase prices out of inertia, without doing cost studies.
“The price difference between the old and new apartments is around 20,000-30,000 euros, the higher price being for the new ones. With an old apartment, however, you have to work on the construction site and in the end you keep spending that extra money.”
