“It confirms the legality of the administration of the evidence and the execution of the documents by the criminal investigation bodies and orders the start of the trial in the case”, announced the Bucharest Court, which stated that the decision can be contested within 3 days.

Shortly after, the representatives of the Tate brothers said that “the defense considers the decision unfounded and illegal” and that they contested it at the Bucharest Court of Appeal.

Eugen Vidineac, the main lawyer of the two brothers, said that “the decision handed down by the preliminary chamber judge lacks legal basis and motivation” and that “we have filed an appeal because we consider the decision to be illegal.”

Ioan Gliga, the other lawyer, said that the Tate brothers maintain their opinion that the arguments presented so far are correct and that they trust the decision of the higher court: “Although they did not receive the necessary attention during the preliminary hearing, we are confident that the panel of judges of at the Court of Appeal will support us”.

“Throughout this process, Andrew and Tristan have fully cooperated with the authorities and provided all necessary information. We trust that the evidence will clearly demonstrate their innocence and absolve them of any wrongdoing,” the representatives of the British brothers said.

The Tate brothers, sent to court last year

On December 30, 2022, Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate were remanded in custody for human trafficking and rape, charged by DIICOT. The two brothers spent three months in preventive detention, and in March 2023 they were placed under house arrest.

In June 2023, the two, together with Georgiana Naghel and Luana Radu, their accomplices, were sent to court.

In August 2023, Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate also escaped house arrest, being placed under judicial control, with several prohibitions. It was for the first time after 7 months that a court decided that the two British millionaires should be investigated in a state of freedom.

In the name of Andrew Tate, there are several complaints made by young women in the UK, who accuse him of rape between 2013 and 2016, while he was still living in the United Kingdom.
