That’s how it happens that the farmers who raise rabbits have nothing to sell in relation to the large number of orders. Others buy rabbits for… decoration and companionship.
The price of a rabbit for the Easter table varies according to the weight, but also the breed. Those who want to eat rabbit instead of lamb should know that the price starts from 100 lei and can reach up to 300 lei per piece.
“I want to tell you that I no longer have any rabbits available for Easter. I have my clients call me months in advance. Many have told me to stop and prepare them then a few days, and others have already taken them and put them in the crate. A carcass weighing 6-7 kilograms varies between 100 and 150 lei. This spring we sold over 100 rabbits. Many take them alive and prepare them themselves,” said a breeder from Vladimir.
And pet rabbits to sell during this period. “I don’t have edible rabbits so to speak. I have pet rabbits and I want to tell you that every year at Easter, sales increase because families with children, especially those who sit in the yard, take them for pictures, for decoration, because the bunny is still a symbol of this holiday. The price of a chicken is between 50 and 70 lei depending on the breed. I ordered 25, I have some, and others will be available after May 1”, said a young man from Bălești.
