Motorcyclists from several counties gathered today in the training ground on Grăniceril Street in Bistrita to mark the opening of the 2024 season on two wheels. They enjoyed the good weather, the company of friends and took a tour of the city on two wheels.

“Today’s event involves presenting motorcycle culture and attracting as many people as possible to this way of life, let’s walk as much as possible, live freely and feel the wind in our hair”, said Călin Țirău, one of the organizers of the event “Be a motorcyclist for a day!”.

Asked about the terribleness of some of the confreres, he said that every forest has droughts, and so does the motorcycle community.

“There are some who push the limits, but let’s not forget that in a car you are protected, on a motorcycle you are almost naked even if you have protective equipment, and the accidents involving motorcyclists are much more serious because of this. We have to look in the mirrors all the time because a lot of traffic accidents happen because of inattention,” he said.

Vasile Chira, another organizer, said that motorcycle clubs from neighboring counties also came to Bistrita.

“I tell my colleagues to go out on the road with their motorcycles, see each other in traffic, care for those around you, friendship and respect,” he said.

More than 2000 motorcycles and 45 mopeds are registered in Bistrita-Năsăud.
