The legendary British blues musician Norman Beaker stopped again in Timișoara on Wednesday evening, where in front of an informed audience he gave a dynamic concert, which included a number of compositions from the artist’s discography, including some songs included in the latest discography material Running down the clock, appeared four years ago.

The Briton, who has been a leader of the British blues scene for more than four decades and was described by BB King as a “white Freddy King”, was joined by bassist Slavica Tucakov, who is also part of the Croatian rock band The Screaming Wheels and Italian drummer Marco Mattietti. One of the surprises of the event held in the Timișoara Pixel club was the fact that the British artist also invited Dan – Silviu Iliescu from the band Axis on stage.

Norman Beaker, the British musician who turns 74 in June of this year, who has collaborated over time with BB King, Buddy Guy, Lowell Fulson or Chuck Berry, has once again demonstrated that the fame he enjoys in circles of blues lovers is about as grounded as it gets.

We had a wonderful night in Timișoara, where we had excellent sound and some very hospitable hosts.

It’s always nice to play in Romania, we were here a few years ago at the Reflecor Venue. It was also nice to welcome on stage Silviu Dan Ilescu on guitar, from the band Axis, a local hero and a good musician. We look forward to coming to Romania again soon, It’s always great to play here, Norman Beaker told us.
