PSD Dolj submitted the candidacies for the County Council: “We expect to take clearly more than 50% of the mandates” – Oltenia regional news

The social democrats of Dolje expect to receive more than 50% of the votes of those who will go to the polls on June 9 to elect a new County Council.

The party’s candidate for the presidency of the Dolje administration remains Cosmin Vasile. On Thursday, PSD Dolj submitted the list of candidates for the County Council (CJ) to the County Electoral Office.

“We have collected an impressive number of signatures, namely 40,000 signatures, much more than the law requires. The list of county councilors means only a third of those who have been in the County Council so far. Two thirds are new people. We have over 30% young people, over 30% women in the eligible area and in the ineligible area. The Social Democratic Party tries to refresh its human resource all the time. There are people who have demonstrated at the County Council level and can take a step forward.

There are people who have demonstrated within the party that they have the desire to get involved, that they have political values, and then they deserve a chance. Our candidate for the position of president of the Dolj County Council is Cosmin Vasile, as you knew. I want to congratulate him on his candidacy. I am waiting for June 9 to congratulate him on his victory. I want to thank him for everything he has done during these 4 years. He is a man who qualified for this position, a man who understood that he is there to represent the entire county of Dolj. He always had an open door and collaborated with all the mayors, from the entire county, regardless of political color. Maybe this explains the fact that other mayors, from other parties, wanted to start a journey alongside Cosmin and PSD.

For me, I think that when we talked 4 years ago, he was a very trustworthy man. We had a discussion with Cosmin, we also had a discussion within the party, we expect to take clearly more than 50% of the mandates. We propose a minimum of 20 county councillors. Citizens are the ones who decide and who will vote. We want to continue at the level of the County Council in the same formula that we have been in for the last 4 years”said Claudiu Manda, PSD Dolj president.

Cosmin Vasile, president of CJ Dolj and candidate for a new mandate, stated that our party’s electoral offer “is concrete” and “can be verified”.

“I want to thank the more than 40,000 citizens who, through their signatures, gave the go-ahead for us to submit our candidacy files. Thanks to the teams that went from house to house. Thank you to the team that has been with us for 4 years and managed to develop many projects. When the election campaign starts we have to go in front of the people and tell them what we have done and what we want to do. With the help of the team of advisors, we can go forward.

There were 4 years that I consider very good, we had big projects, important achievements. These years have not been repeated so far in the history of the County Council, in terms of the number of projects, the amount of European money attracted, and the value of investments. In these 4 years, I understood that the community and the people of Dolj county deserve good roads, quality services, high-performing health services, they deserve investments in culture, in education. Dolj county deserves to be one of the most important. In these 4 years, we have not let any funding axis escape us unaddressed. We wanted not to come to people with ideas, with fantasies, with unrealistic projects. Every project that will follow in the next 4 years, every investment, will exceed what has happened so far in Dolj county. All have a start date and most have already started, have a feasibility study or a signed financing contract. All have a justified funding source, all are based on strategies. All are done in such a way as to present to every man that we do not bring ideas from home or unrealistic perspectives. Our electoral offer is concrete, it can be verified.

Only last year we managed to write financing projects of almost 200 million euros. We were the first county in Romania in terms of amount attracted. When the PNRR was opened, we were among the first counties that submitted projects and contracted. In the executive part I had a team with whom I worked excellently. There will be big investments in county roads, we will inaugurate the Craiova Airport terminal, there will be big projects in health and in centers of excellence in health because Dolj County really deserves performance in administration”stated Cosmin Vasile.

Olguța Vasilescu, the mayor of Craiova, was also present at the submission of candidacies for the County Council.

“We thank Cosmin Vasile for the way he supported the city of Craiova to develop, as happened in the last 4 years through the projects he did for the benefit of the citizens. I would like to mention the development of Craiova International Airport, at the end of this year it will have the second largest terminal in Romania, after Otopeni. Two unique museums, the Museum of Exile and the Constantin Brâncusi International Center, which put us on the map of Europe. The last industrial park that I did with Cosmin Vasile is currently full. This made us look for land for the development of another industrial park. On the land we obtained from the Ministry of Justice, we will build a 180-hectare park. There were many collaborations on subjects such as sports. We have the most beautiful Sports Complex in Romania, but it would not be complete if it were not for that functional hall where Cosmin Vasile is currently working together with the team from the Dolj County Council. I hope, with the support of the citizens, to continue in this team in the next 4 years because we have a lot of common projects”Olguța Vasilescu said.

For his part, the vice-president of CJ Dolj, Antonie Solomon, stated: “For me, home is not a specific place, it’s a feeling. Here, together with the Social Democratic Party, I have the feeling of spiritual fulfillment. It was 20 years of wandering. I returned to PSD because in the whole country you can no longer find 3-4 characters like Mr. President (no. Cosmin Vasile). The stock of characters has decreased. I really liked it, but don’t make the mistakes I did. There are some who still imitate work, friendship. He has only one friend, Mr. President Claudiu Manda.
