Near the town of Oarda, Alba county, a large bear was seriously injured by a car on the A1 highway. And as the injuries were much too severe, the animal was euthanized.
In the early hours of the morning the bear, a male weighing more than 250 kg, was seen near the A1 highway. It is not known exactly how he was hit by the car on the road, according to stirileprotv.ro.
The bear hid in an area with tall vegetation from where, due to the injuries it suffered, it never came out. Meanwhile, the alert was given! The area was immediately swarmed by crews, and locals received Ro-Alert warning messages not to approach.
A hunting dog was also brought in to take the trail of the savage. The gendarmes fired several shots with maneuver ammunition to drive the bear away. But when it was discovered, a veterinarian was called and found that the bear had very serious injuries. In order to end his suffering, the decision of euthanasia was made.
