The Metropolitan of Transylvania blessed the new “Holy Transylvanian Martyrs” church in Bartolomeu Nord – Avantgarden

Photo: FOUNDERS Zaharie Stoica Marghiloman, Maria Mailat received the “Metropolitan Ioan Mețianu” Founder’s Order for the laity from the hierarch. The church has another founder, also distinguished, but who wished to remain anonymous.

After the meal on Sunday, April 21, the Most Reverend Father Laurentiu Streza, Metropolitan of Transylvania, blessed the demision of the church dedicated to the Saints of Transylvania and St. Ier. Andrei Şaguna from Braşov, from Bartolomeu Nord. The parish priest Costin Butnar managed, with the help of benefactors and believers, in only a year and a half, to raise the foundation of this place of worship.
“You give us a reason for great joy here. The joy of the desire you have for this spiritual edifice to be completed. When a church is built, several stages are followed. First of all, we laid the foundation stone here and we prayed to God that a wall church would be built on this land, but that it would also be filled with believers. Behold, the second stage is now fulfilled, when this basement is full of people. I was with Father Costin Butnar from the beginning, I analyzed many plans and many drawings and it seemed big to me, but now, when I see the church full of people, it is not so big anymore, which is a very good thing . Your father has a great soul and wants to encompass a lot, but we told him that if he succeeds in starting the spiritual work, the work of sanctification, of consecrating the faithful, to start the Liturgy here, in the basement, the basement will build and the church all the way up, because every time the faithful, when they come and see that it is not finished, they also leave their love there, a brick in a building that remains behind us. […] And I’m glad that the father listened and now we see the fruit of his work and yours”the hierarch conveyed to those present.
Along with the “Sfinții Martiri Transilvaneni” church that is being built in the Bartolomeu Nord – Avantgarden neighborhood of Braşov, the ensemble project also includes a cultural center and a mortuary chapel.
Father Dănuţ Benga, archpriest of Braşov, father Dr. Ion Manea, archpriest of Bran-Zărneşti, more than 30 priests from the surrounding area, deacons and servants of the holy altars were present at the bishop’s service on Sunday, under the patronage of His Eminence. Next to the newly formed community were central, county and local authorities.
