The Sibiu County Council is looking for offers for the purchase of fruit, telemea cheese and bee honey within the Romanian Schools Program for the 2023-2024 school year. These will be used in the classroom to promote healthy eating among students. With the help of the purchased products, workshops will be held in which the children will prepare fruit salad and learn what and how to eat healthy.

For the purchase of the fruits needed to make the packages for preschoolers and students, the County Council tenders a contract with a maximum value of

260,658 lei without VAT. There will be at least three types of fruit, which will weigh 150 grams and which will be packed in casseroles. A casserole must cost six lei.

“Before the distribution of the products, the school units will be contacted in order to determine the exact number of products to be distributed. The price of the offer is firm throughout the duration of the contract and will be expressed in lei (RON). The technical and financial offer will be submitted for all products included in

specifications. The offer will be valid for 90 days from the deadline of its submission. Equivalent products to those contained in these specifications will also be accepted. The tenderer will present the provenance and quality documents of the offered products”, the specifications state.

It is exemplified by an educational unit with 100 enrolled students, which will benefit from 5 kg of apricots, 5 kg of tangerines, 5 kg of bananas, as well as the necessary casseroles for the distribution of the products to the students.

The schools will also receive dairy products in the form of packages. The total value of the contract put up for auction is 269,346.6 lei without VAT. This time, each student will receive at least 100 gr. of cow fat, worth 6.2 lei

“When submitting the offer, the offeror, in order to prove that he meets the minimum mandatory requirements, will submit: certificates of conformity and quality for the offered products, the technical specifications for each offered product and photos for each offered product. The products delivered will be those offered and reflected in the photos presented. If, for objective reasons, certain offered products for which documents have been submitted cannot be delivered, the contracting authority will accept superior products from a qualitative point of view”, the specifications state.

According to it, the telemeau that is going to reach children must be a pasteurized cow’s milk product, have selected lactic cultures, rennet, salt, without milk powder. It will have a content of at least 3.2% protein and at least 1.8% fat. The portion of dairy products must contain at least 90% by weight of heat-treated milk.

The third product to reach schools will be the honey bee bars. The maximum value of the contract is 238,936.5 lei without VAT. According to the specifications, each student or preschooler in the educational units of Sibiu County will receive at least 75g of polyflora honey, in the form of bars, worth 5.5 lei.

Shipping costs to each school facility will be included in the purchase price of the products. The distribution of the products will be based on the order received from the Sibiu County Council, at least 4 working days before the delivery date.

“The polyfloral honey that is the object of the purchase must, in an OBLIGATORY manner, meet the following conditions, provided for in HG 652/2023, with subsequent additions and changes: it must not be produced by bees that have been fed with sugar or artificial syrups during

collecting nectar; comes from apiaries authorized according to the legal provisions in force and complies with the provisions of the Order of the Minister of Agriculture, Forests, Water and Environment, of the Minister of Health and of the President of the National Authority for Protection”, the specifications state.

For all three products, offers can be submitted until May 8, at 12:00 p.m. The contracts cover a number of 43,443 students.
