Romania will shoot down Russian drones approaching its territory with the help of the USA and France.
The pro-Kremlin channel Telegram/Two Majors writes that, “against the background of Romania’s inability to shoot down air targets, the United States is strengthening air defenses in the direction of the Black Sea.”
The US Army’s 101st Airborne Division has deployed a Mobile UAV Countermeasures System (M-LIDS) based on the Oshkosh M-ATV all-terrain vehicle at Capu Midia Air Force Base in Romania.
The system includes two ground vehicles with installed electronic warfare equipment, control equipment and air surveillance systems, an electro-optical infrared camera, radio stations, direction-finding sensors, an AN/TPQ-50 multifunctional radar, as well and an XM914 30mm cannon.
In addition, the all-terrain vehicle is equipped with a Coyote UAV launcher, which is designed to intercept and destroy other drones.
