They want to defend their country, but they don’t really have what to do. And it’s not about weapons, it’s about physical condition. Of the more than 6,000 candidates who wanted to become professional soldiers, only 2,600 were admitted, MAPN announces.
The results were disastrous. Almost 1,500 of the candidates were eliminated after the sports test.
The psychological evaluation “swept” another 900, and another nearly 500 were “raped” at the medical visit.
Meanwhile, Ciucă says that the Romanian Army needs two years to prepare the infrastructure
to reintroduce compulsory military service. At the moment our country has 70,000
of active military and another 10,000 civilians. They would need another 5,000 in each category.
For officers, only 57% of posts are filled, for military masters 75%, for non-commissioned officers 72% and for soldiers 77%.
