ELCEN announced a major breakdown in the heating network operated by Termoenergetica, CET Bucharest West being unavailable, and CET Grozăvesti unable to be started. In this context, the PSD candidate for the Capital City Hall, Gabriela Firea, states that half of Bucharest residents have reasons to “thank” the current general mayor, as they wash themselves with water heated in a kettle.

“Major breakdown in the heating network operated by Termoenergetica. CET Bucharest West unavailable. CET Grozăvești no longer supplies make-up water. The plant cannot be restarted,” ELCEN said.

The company stated that the breakdown occurred on Tuesday, around 18:00 on the heating network operated by Termoenergetica, in the section served by CET Bucharest West.

“This affected the activity of the thermal power plant, causing the shutdown of the equipment in operation in CET Bucharest West due to massive water losses from the heating network.

A second rupture produced on the heating network operated by Termoenergetica, in the section served by CET Grozăvesti, led to the suspension of the supply of additional water from CET Grozăvesti and to the impossibility of putting the equipment in the plant into operation”, ELCEN also specified.

In this context, the PSD candidate for the Bucharest City Hall, Gabriela Firea, said on Wednesday that “half of the capital’s residents have reason to say “Thank you” to the current general mayor! It is washed with water heated in a kettle”.

“3,700 blocks, most of them in sector 6, do not have hot water! It’s still cold outside! It is one of the biggest breakdowns in recent years, and two of the four CETs have stopped. What does the general mayor do during this time? What knows best when a crisis occurs: nothing”, Gabriela Firea wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.

It also posts “real figures, verifiable by anyone interested” regarding the achievements of its previous mandate.

“From 2016 to 2020, 304 km of network were modernized with money from the local budget, of which 67 km from the primary network, 237 km from the secondary network. With two years the company is insolvent and another two years with the city hall’s budget cut in half! “Nicusor Dan would rather remind the people of Bucharest who don’t have hot water who worked for the 300 million euros of European funds, when the contract was signed and why he started the works only after three years,” Firea said.
