At this moment, approximately 5,000 citizens of Constanta receive the minimum income of inclusion (VMI). The County Agency for Payments and Social Inspection (AJPIS) started paying VMI from January 1, 2024, when social benefits and allowances for family support disappeared, people with reduced financial possibilities receiving, instead, this type of help. The sums of money that the population receives have the role of preventing and combating poverty and the risk of social exclusion, while at the same time aiming to encourage children’s participation in education.

Four months have already passed since the entry into force of the provisions of the law on the minimum income of inclusion (VMI). Since then, don’t you think that people from disadvantaged areas have started looking for jobs where they can collect some decent wages. On the contrary, they prefer to sit with their hand outstretched to the state, even if the money coming into their house from child allowances barely ensures their survival from one day to the next. How many people from Constanta are in this situation?

“If in January we had around 3,000 beneficiaries, last month there were 5,000 people and we continue to expect an increase in their number, in the context in which the conditions for accessing this benefit have relaxed. It is possible to reach 6,000-7,000 beneficiaries”, said the director of the County Agency for Payments and Social Inspection (AJPIS) Constanţa, Laura Constandin. She stated that most of them are from Dobromir and Băneasa.

We remind you that, at this moment, the amount of the minimum inclusion income, provided by law, is established based on the adjusted net monthly income, calculated by applying the equivalence coefficients, corresponding to the single person, respectively the size of the family, to their net monthly income. The family and the single person with no income or whose income does not cover the minimum standard of living can benefit from the minimum income of inclusion, if they meet the eligibility conditions provided by this law and whose adjusted net monthly income is up to 880 lei inclusive.

Families and single individuals whose adjusted net monthly incomes are up to: 880 lei/family member are eligible for the minimum inclusion income grant, for inclusion aid and aid for families with children; 346 lei/family member, inclusion aid, exclusively, except for the elderly person, for whom the maximum level is 504 lei; 880 lei/family member, for help for families with children, exclusively.

The maximum amount of the inclusion aid established by law is 346 lei/month/family member, with the exception of the single person aged at least 65, for whom the maximum amount is 504 lei/month.

We specify that the minimum inclusion income is granted at the request of the entitled person.
