Since the beginning of April, 26 earthquakes have been recorded in Romania, with magnitudes between 2.4 and 3.4 on the Richter scale. PHOTO: Shutterstock

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.3 on the Richter scale occurred on Wednesday morning, at 3:00 local time, in Vrancea county, according to information published by the National Research and Development Institute for Earth Physics (INCDFP).

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 73.4 kilometers, near the following cities: 28 km west of Focşani, 69 km north of Buzău, 82 km southwest of Bârlad, 82 km east of Sfântu-Gheorghe, 88 km south of Bacău and 96 km east of Brasov.

Since the beginning of April, 26 earthquakes have been recorded in Romania, with magnitudes between 2.4 and 3.4 on the Richter scale.

Last year, the largest tectonic movement, with a magnitude of 5.7 on the Richter scale, took place on February 14, in Gorj County, at a depth of 6.3 kilometers.
