ignoring the true heroes of Satmar

--

In a democratic system, public institutions should be committed to recognizing and rewarding those who make significant and positive contributions to the community. However, the reality in Satu Mare Prefecture suggests a different story. Apparently, the awards and recognitions given by this institution are motivated more by political and clientelistic criteria than by the actual merit of the individuals.

Unfortunately, it is evident that some individuals are awarded not because they have made significant contributions to the benefit of the community, but rather because they are connected to certain political circles or for other obscure reasons. This means that the merit, dedication and sacrifices of true heroes are often overlooked and silenced.

A shining example is the recent case under the Decebal Bridge in the municipality of Satu Mare. In an emergency situation where a woman’s life was in danger, real heroes stood up and stepped in to save that life. These unsung heroes have demonstrated courage, dedication and humanity, and their actions have had a real impact on the community.

However, despite their heroic acts, these people are not adequately recognized or rewarded by the Satu Mare Prefecture. Instead, we see how awards are given to those who have political connections or who serve certain interests, completely ignoring the contributions and sacrifices of those who really made a difference.

Such practices not only undermine public trust in government institutions, but also discourage civic spirit and initiative in the community. When real heroes are ignored or downplayed, it sends the wrong message to society as a whole, emphasizing that political connections are more important than the integrity and well-being of the community.

An urgent paradigm shift is needed in the way awards and recognitions are given in Satu Mare Prefecture and, in fact, in all public institutions. Merit and real contribution should be the basic criteria for such awards and cronyism should be completely eliminated. Only in this way can trust and respect in our institutions be restored and the sacrifices and achievements of those who make a difference in our community truly recognized and rewarded.
