Xiaomi 14 Ultra, also available in Romania. How much does the new flagship of the Chinese manufacturer cost

Xiaomi 14 Ultra, the top of the range from the current offer of the Chinese manufacturer, is available for pre-order between April 3 and 16 through the channels of Xiaomi’s official partners in Romania, as well as through the official mi-home.ro online store.

The smartphone, in the variant with 16 GB of RAM memory and 512 GB of storage space, has a suggested retail price of 7499 lei. Users who pre-order between April 3 and 16 will additionally receive a Professional Photography Kit, 80W wireless charger and a voucher worth 500 lei.

Inspired by the aesthetics of traditional cameras, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is, according to the manufacturers, a flagship designed for professional imaging and features a distinctive circular camera module with a stylized flat design on the back. It will be available in two classic colors: black and white.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra benefits from a high-strength aluminum metal frame, Xiaomi nanotech vegan leather and Xiaomi Shield glass. Xiaomi Nanotech Vegan Leather features a newly developed formula, resulting in a thinner and lighter finish with 6x improved wear resistance compared to previous generations.

Using Xiaomi Shield glass, the innovative All Around Liquid display of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra aims to redefine appearance by achieving a consistent curve on all sides and corners, perfectly combining the visual appeal of a flat screen with the tactile feedback of a curved edge . Users enjoy an immersive visual experience with the AMOLED display with WQHD+ resolution (3200 x 1440) and 6.73″ diagonal, which offers a pixel density of 522 ppi and a variable refresh rate of 1-120Hz, all supported by a maximum brightness of 3000 nits.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is equipped with a quad-camera setup with a remarkable range of focal lengths ranging from 12mm to 120mm. The main camera, equipped with a continuously variable aperture ƒ/1.63-ƒ/4.0, makes it easy to adjust the exposure in various scenarios. The integration of an ultra-large 1-inch LYT-900 image sensor with a dynamic range of up to 14EV guarantees image quality even in difficult environments. The quad-camera set is completed by the Leica 75mm floating telephoto camera, the Leica 120mm periscope camera and the Leica 12mm ultra-wide camera.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra aims to lead the field of mobile imaging with 8K recording at 30fps, available on all four cameras. With Leica optics and a 50 MP main sensor, the device promises unparalleled clarity in 8K video, facilitating professional post-production editing. The main camera also supports 4K 120fps recording and adapts to 5x slow-motion effects. In addition, at 4K resolution, it offers full zoom at 60fps. The device also supports recording in Dolby Vision at 4K 60fps and has stabilization for smooth video capture. An additional microphone has been added to form a 4-microphone array, enabling both surround and directional sound recording.

To deliver a professional videography experience, the new Film mode introduces film industry practices such as the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and 180° shutter rule, delivering videos with an authentic cinematic look and motion blur. The new MasterCinema encodes HDR video in 10-bit Rec.2020 to capture richer details, highlights and shadows, surpassing the previous 8-bit BT.709 standard, especially on HDR displays. The Director mode offers a professional-level interface with advanced parameter controls and Log recording for flexible post-production. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra can be integrated with other Xiaomi devices such as external monitors for an immersive productivity experience, including the new Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4.

Launched alongside the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra Photo Kit is designed for photography and videography enthusiasts, offering extended functions in a dedicated grip and case. It includes a two-stage shutter button, a zoom lever, a customizable video recording button and a custom extra dial. It also works as an external battery, offering a battery life of 1500mAh. This accessory is available for separate purchase.

The new 80W wireless charger flexibly covers a wide range of charging needs. Compatible with various smartphone models, it adaptively achieves precise alignment to enhance wireless charging efficiency. The ergonomic design of the charging surface is tilted for comfortable use while the smartphone is charging. It is also equipped with an LED indicator to show the charging status in real time.
