Premier Restaurants Romania, the operator of McDonald’s restaurants, exceeded the threshold of 6,000 employees, starting in February 2024, as a result of local expansion plans and the opening of new restaurants.

According to a press release sent on Wednesday, the structure of the McDonald’s team consists of 60% women and 40% men, a ratio that is reflected in the headquarters, in the restaurant team, but also at the company’s top management level. The average age is 31 years, and 45% of the employees are under 25 years old.

“With a team that currently has over 6,000 colleagues, we are the largest employer in Romania in the fast-service restaurant industry. It is a joy that we managed to grow the team to this level and that we have dedicated and passionate colleagues what I do. Furthermore, we are happy that we have succeeded in developing a pleasant working environment that offers equal opportunities to everyone, regardless of gender, age or experience. Furthermore, we aim to create new employment opportunities in the communities where we are present and to invest in the growth of our colleagues through programs and dedicated training sessions”, said Monica Zdrancotă, Director of Human Resources, Premier Restaurants Romania.

Over 540 employees have been with the company for over 15 years

In 2023, the total number of training hours completed by the company’s employees is 38,475. At the same time, to support young student employees, the company offers merit scholarships to colleagues with excellent results at university and at work. 87% of the managers started their careers within the company, and over 540 employees have been with the company for over 15 years.

In May 2023, McDonald’s in Romania received the certification for “Best Place to Work”, a distinction awarded by the program of the same name, a global evaluation initiative in the field of human resources. This places the company in the top of the most appreciated in Romania, according to the evaluations made by its own employees. The program rewards employers who stand out through high standards regarding the work environment, organizational culture and professional development opportunities.

Premier Restaurants Romania operates McDonald’s restaurants in Romania, the restaurant market leader, with 101 restaurants in 31 cities, including 54 McDrive restaurants and 57 McCafe cafes.
