The trafficker from Oradea caught by the police with the help of “Burghezu”, sentenced to 3 years in prison with execution

--

Florin Simuț was investigated in a DIICOT Oradea file, after a whistleblower told the anti-drug police that he received a sample of hashish from Florin Simuț. Shortly after, on February 25, 2019, a police officer, “Burghezu”, met the suspect near the Velenta square. The trafficker told him that he has two kilograms of very good quality hashish, which he sells for 5,500 euros.

They decided to make the transaction the next day, when they met in the parking lot of a shopping center in Oradea, from where they left for some nearby blocks. From a car parked in the area, Simuț took a bag with 20 boxes of hashish and gave it to the collaborator of the investigators, from whom he received the money. It was then that the anti-drug officers intervened and caught the suspect.

The magistrates found out that Florin Simuț was also sentenced, in 2014, in Spain, to two years of suspended prison and spent four months in prison, in 2018, for driving a car without a license. Even though they noticed that he revised his behavior, committed himself and showed sincerity during the trial, the judges of the Court decided to sentence the Oradean to three years in prison with execution. “The punishment was established in consideration of the large amount of high-risk drug sold by the defendant (almost 2 kg of hashish) and his criminal antecedents”, explained the magistrates whose sentence was upheld by the Oradea Court of Appeal.

Three people from Oradea, sentenced with suspension for drug trafficking

Also on Monday, three other people from Oradea were definitively sentenced to suspended prison terms, in another drug trafficking case orchestrated by DIICOT Oradea. According to the court portal, it is about David Claudiu Panti, Richard Zoltan Solyom and Marian Ionel Mut. The first two were each sentenced to two years suspended, while Mut received a sentence of two years and three months in prison, also suspended. Panti was accused that, between September 2019 and January 2020, he sold the total amount of 24 grams of cannabis to an authorized collaborator in seven rows in exchange for 1,440 lei.

In the same interval, Richard Solyom sold 19 grams of cannabis to the police collaborator, the same drug that was found in searches made on January 14 in Solyom’s car and in David Panti’s home.

Cannabis and cannabis resin were also found in Marian Mut’s home, held for sale, but also drugs for consumption: MDMA, LSD or Amphetamine.
