Lot 5 of the Sibiu-Pitesti highway could be ready ahead of schedule. Over a thousand workers are on site (video)

The constructor WeBuild has mobilized 1,040 people for the works on section 5 Curtea de Argeș – Pitesti, and the construction site is ahead of schedule, according to the statements of the Secretary of State for Transport, Irinel Ionel Scrioșteanu. If the current pace is maintained, this batch of approximately 30 kilometers could be completed and put into traffic as early as 2024, ahead of the contractual deadline.

Scrioșteanu said on Tuesday that he personally inspected the state of works along the entire length of section 5 Curtea de Argeș – Pitești of the Sibiu – Pitești Highway, writes the Economica.net news portal. He detailed that the works on the body of the highway and the related structures of this section have the following evolution :

• The laying of the base layer is continued.
• Retaining walls have been completed.
• Rough stone block improvement works and base ground consolidation works have been completed.
• The form layer is being completed, with a total of 44,500 cubic meters executed.
• Work is underway on the road superstructure, ballast foundation layer and cement stabilized ballast.
• Installation of cashiers and visitor dormitories in the median area of ​​the highway is in progress.
• The execution work of the ITS system is ongoing.
• Longitudinal drainage execution has begun.
• Work is underway on the foundations needed for the lighting poles.
• The works related to the railway overpass at km 104+484 have been completed.
• It continues with the foundations of the piers related to the bridge over the canal in the area of ​​the Argeș River from km 111+362.
• The last foundation and the last elevation of the passage over DN7 is being executed.
• 168 prefabricated beams with a length of 40 meters were installed for the passage over the DN7C (km 104+865), the bridge over the Argeș River (km 110+565) and the bridge over the Valsan River (km 109+383).
• All 24 prefabricated beams with a length of 14.5 meters related to the bridge over the canal (km 121+560) have been installed.
• Work is underway on the supply and installation of the metal decks related to the bridge at km 92+814, where 4428 tons have been supplied and 2723 tons have already been installed.
• 1690 tons of the 2723 tons of metal deck related to the bridge at km 95+927 were installed.
• The work of mounting the pre-rails related to the passage over the DN7C (km 104+865) is in progress.
• The installation of the pallets related to the bridge over the Argeș river (km 110+565) has been completed, and work is underway on the execution of the concrete slab.
• The installation of the prefabricated lyses at the Bridge over the marshy area (km 111+780) has been completed.
• The installation work of the pre-fabricated flyovers at the viaduct to avoid the safety zone of the railway and the lake Budeasa embankment area (km 115+240) is in progress.
• Earthworks are being carried out in the service space area at km 118+360 and in the short-term parking area at km 107+970.
• The earthworks related to CIC Cuetea de Argeș, CIC Bascov continue.
• Filling and embankment works are continuing in the area of ​​the access shoulder of the road junction.
• The boxed floors located on Breteaua 1 are being completed, and the asphalting of the base layer on Breteaua 2 has been completed.
• The laying of the base layer is carried out on Strap 1 and on straps 3 and 4.
• The assembly of the cases continues.
