Substantial increases, between 1,666 lei and 551 lei, this shows the salary rights situation made public by the Galati City Hall on March 30, 2024
We are talking about the basic salaries of the staff within the specialized apparatus of the mayor and the Service for the Registration of Indigent Persons, salaries to which increments and other benefits can be added.
“At Galati City Hall, coefficients instead of basic salaries”, I wrote in the March 5th edition of “Viata liberă” newspaper. We reported then that, for the first time, the local elected officials did not vote for a list of basic salaries for each category of staff in Galati City Hall and the Personal Registration Service, but a list of… coefficients! They will be used to calculate the respective basic salaries for civil servants and contract staff.
At that time, I also asked the local administration for the value of the salary by which the coefficients will be multiplied and I presented you with how much some basic salaries in Galati City Hall could increase. The increases we calculated are, however, much lower than the real ones, which the local administration made public in the “Transparency of salary incomes” section.
The highest incomes
According to the published table, the mayor, deputy mayors and public administrator are the best paid in Galati City Hall, but they do not benefit from the biggest increases. Thus, the mayor’s allowance is 21,735 lei, 1,035 lei higher than in September 2023. Deputy mayors and the public administrator are paid 19,320 lei each, compared to 18,400 lei they had in September last year.
The most important increase – 1,666 lei – is for the general secretary, whose basic salary is 18,306 lei. Next comes the position of chief architect – 18,113 lei basic salary (an increase of 1,473 lei) and the position of executive director – 16,639 lei (an increase of 1,512 lei). A novelty is the position of head of the audit service, remunerated with 15,456 lei, basic salary. And the position of head of service starts from a basic salary of 14,852 lei, 1,352 lei more than in September 2023.
Executive public functions
And in the general executive public functions there are quite consistent increases. Thus, the basic salary of an auditor, higher grade, grade 5 starts from 11,337 lei, whereas, last September, it started from 10,395 lei. In the case of the positions of adviser, legal adviser, public procurement adviser, respectively inspector, the basic salary for the higher grade, grade 5 is 9,563 lei, and it drops to 5,313 lei for the assistant grade, grade 0. A specialist referent higher grade, grade 5, has a basic salary of 6,977 lei, compared to 6,072 lei, in September 2023. And we also reach the most modestly remunerated public position – the referent: 6,044 lei basic salary for the higher grade, grade 5, and only 3,912 lei the basic salary for an assistant with grade 0.
Contractual performance functions
No less than 8,209 lei – i.e. an increase of 1,070 lei – represents the basic salary for the position of advisor, specialist inspector, specialist referent grade IA, grade 5. For grade II, grade 2, the basic salary reaches 5,043 of lions. The basic salary of a driver is between 5,323 lei and 5,066 lei, depending on the grade. And a qualified worker at the City Hall has a basic salary of 5,593 lei at grade 5.
It should also be said that increments can be added to the basic salaries, but also other substantial rights and benefits.
