ITM Alba: Fines of 15,000 lei and over 20 warnings given by labor inspectors, after checks at companies in the county

The labor inspectors from Alba applied, between March 25 and 29, two fines totaling 15,000 lei and 22 warnings, after checks at companies in the county.

In the field of labor relations, 42 economic agents were checked, with a total number of 546 employees. 91 irregularities were discovered and two fines of 15,000 lei and 10 warnings were issued.

The main deficiencies found in the controls:

• the record of the time worked is not kept correctly;
• seniority certificates were not issued upon termination of activity;
• individual part-time employment contracts do not contain clauses regarding the distribution of the work schedule;
• the salaries were not paid, on the date established in the individual employment contracts;
• non-payment of overtime and non-granting of annual statutory holidays;
• failure to grant weekly rest and the related increase;
• there is no proof of handing over a copy of the individual employment contract to the employee;
• personal files do not contain the necessary documents for employment;
• collective bargaining was not initiated at the unit level;
• copies of individual employment contracts are not kept at the company’s workplaces;

In the field of occupational health and safety, 23 units were checked and 41 irregularities were found. 9 employers were sanctioned. Labor inspectors applied 12 warnings.

The main deficiencies established in controls:

• Lack of skill sheets issued following the employment and/or periodical medical examination of workers.
• Lack of occupational injury and illness risk assessment for the activities carried out.
• Lack of initial authorization and periodic checks of technical equipment subject to ISCIR regulations.
• Lack of periodic training of workers.
• Inadequate organization of the activity at the unit level, according to the new regulations of GD no. 955/2010 for the modification and completion of the Methodological Norms for the application of the provisions of the Law on Safety and Health at Work no. 319/2006.
• Lack of own work safety instructions for the activities carried out.
• Carrying out the activity without carrying out the medical examination upon employment and/or periodically of the workers.
