Sibiu City Hall, through the Integrated Management Service for Urban Ecosystems, started spring planting in the city. Between March and May in Sibiu will be planted:
- 100 trees (ornamental maples and cherry trees, etc.). This activity has already been completed on M. Kogălniceanu, Calea Turnișorului, Reconstrucții and Tudor Vladimirescu streets and is to be planted on Podului street.
- 41,000 annual plants (petunias, daisies, carnations, etc.). In May, they will be placed on the light poles on Bâlea Street, V. Milea Boulevard and Alba Iulia Street and the flowing geraniums.
- 1,300 perennials and shrubsin the roundabouts at the intersections, at the Dumbrava store, in front of the Ion Besoiu Cultural Center, in Astra Park, in Unirii Square, on Andrei Șaguna, on Victoriei Boulevard, in the square in Teatrului Square, in Tineretului Park, in Schiller Square, on str Cetății, in Piața Mare, in Piața Mică, on Mihai Viteazu b-dul, on Nicolae Iorga str., on Gladioler str., in Terezian Park and in Valea Aurie.
On the bank of the Cibin, in the Alba Iulia road area, meadow vegetation will be planted on approximately 2,000 square meters, and the green area on C. Coposu boulevard, in front of the County Hospital, will be seeded with grass. Also, in the green areas that have degraded in the cold season, it will be seeded again, to restore the grass.
During this period, 20,000 tulips and 2,250 daffodils, whose bulbs were planted last autumn, will also bloom in the green areas of the city.
