A new highway appears in Romania, alongside an expressway. Investment of over 3.2 billion euros

A new highway appears in Romania! The Executive adopted, on Thursday, the Government’s decision for the approval of the technical-economic indicators related to the investment objective “Craiova – Filiaşi Motorway and Filiaşi – Târgu Jiu Expressway”, Dolj and Gorj counties.

“The high-speed route between Craiova and Târgu Jiu (110.1 km) will consist of two sections with different profiles (established on the basis of road traffic values). To be able to start the tender and subsequently the construction were approved today by Government, the technical-economic indicators both for the Craiova-Filiaşi section (51.5 km), which will have a highway profile, and for the Filiaşi-Târgu Jiu section (58.6 km), which will have an express road profile”, written by Sorin Grindeanu, Thursday on Facebook.

The PSD minister added that “both objectives are provided for in the 2021-2030 Investment Program, and for their implementation the total sum of 16.53 billion lei, including VAT, is allocated”. “The construction of this high-speed road, which passes through Dolj and Gorj counties, is financed by the Transport Program (PT) 2021-2027”, Grindeanu also stated.

Marcel Ciolacu stated that he is convinced “that we can move on to design and construction as quickly as possible”

At the beginning of the Government session, Thursday from the Victoria Palace, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu stated that he is convinced “that we can move on to design and construction as quickly as possible. There are 51.5 kilometers of highway and 59 kilometers of expressway”.

“It is an investment of over 3.2 billion euros from European money and from the budget”, added the head of the Executive.
