In case you don’t know, fractures can also affect a healthy bone, in the case of a strong trauma, but often they appear against the background of the pre-existence of an osteoporosis process. That’s why, experts say, prolonged immobilization after surgical treatment for a fracture can accentuate osteolysis processes in some people, if the patient does not follow a series of medical recommendations. Once the fracture has been stabilized, it is important for the patient to begin recovery and mobilization. It is good to know that the bone is permanently subjected to processes of osteosynthesis and osteolysis, in which the intake of calcium is directly involved, as well as other minerals and vitamins, such as magnesium and vitamin D. Thus, for people with a lower mineral density, who is often discovered by the radiologist after the fracture, it is important to change the diet and supplement it, on the doctor’s recommendation, with certain beneficial food supplements, among which we mention milk and fermented dairy products, such as cheeses and yogurt, but also eggs, soy milk and tofu, sesame, almonds and greens like spinach, parsley and kale. This does not mean that the patient should eat excessively cheese or other dairy products, or eggs, but only consume reasonable amounts daily.
