Rumer Willis, one of the daughters of the American actor Bruce Willis, provided new information related to the state of health of her father, diagnosed with dementia in 2023, reports contactmusic.com on Saturday, according to Agerpres.
Bruce Willis was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2023, but Rumer Willis, his eldest daughter, revealed that the 69-year-old actor is in good spirits.
“He is wonderful. Yes, it feels good,” the 35-year-old actress told Fox News Digital.
Rumer Willis also explained why his family wanted to be so transparent about the actor’s health issues.
“For me, during this experience, what was so incredible was that my father is so loved. (…) If sharing our experience can bring hope (…), if it can have an effect and bring hope, relief, to someone else going through something like that, then for me, that means… everything”, she said.
Bruce Willis’ family revealed the news of his dementia diagnosis in early 2023.
“We wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for all the love and compassion for Bruce over the past ten months. Your generosity has been overwhelming and we are extremely grateful for it. For your kindness, and because we know you love Bruce as much as we do, we wanted to give you some new information. Since we announced Bruce’s aphasia diagnosis in the spring of 2022, his condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD). Unfortunately, communication challenges are just one symptom of the illness Bruce is dealing with. Although this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis,” the actor’s family said at the time.
