The fight resulted in the death of a man. A man from the Traian commune got into a conflict with a fellow citizen on Palm Sunday, then the two got into a fight. One punched the other and he fell headfirst onto the asphalt. The two were under the influence of alcohol, and the injured person, 31 years old, seemed to have recovered from the blow, he even went home, but the next day his grandmother found him unconscious and he died at the hospital after a few days. The author arrived at the hospital with a broken leg, and investigations continue for the commission of the crime of hitting or causing death. No preventive measures have been taken yet. The suspect is to be interviewed, after discharge, to determine if he hit the other man in self-defense.
According to the data received from the Brăila County Police Inspectorate, a woman from the Traian commune notified the police from the Traian Communal Police Station on April 30, regarding the fact that, on April 28, her 31-year-old grandson was physically assaulted by another citizen, 28 years old. On April 29, he was transported to the hospital, following the injuries he suffered. “From the first investigations, it emerged that on April 28, against the background of a spontaneous conflict and following the consumption of alcoholic beverages, the two men allegedly assaulted each other. Both the 31-year-old man and the 28-year-old man were taken to hospital for treatment. Later, the 31-year-old man died at the hospital. Further research is being carried out to accurately establish the factual situation and all the circumstances in which the event occurredl”, the police said.
The file was registered at the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Brăila Court, the accusations being beatings or injuries causing death. It was found that the legal classification of the act must be changed, after the assaulted man died.
According to some judicial sources, from the means of evidence administered up to this moment it emerged that, on April 28, the injured person A. Ionuţ and the perpetrator C. Mihăiţă were at a party at the home of some locals from Traian commune.
Both the injured person and the perpetrator were under the influence of alcoholic beverages, and there was a previous conflict between them.
In this context, around 7:30 p.m., the two went out in front of the gate of the respective building, where they started arguing. At one point, the perpetrator punched the injured person in the face, who fell to the ground and hit his head on the asphalt. “The injured person remained unconscious for a few minutes, after which he recovered and returned to the yard. Later he went to his home, and the next day he was found by his grandmother in a state of unconsciousness. The injured person was transported to the hospital unit for medical care. On May 1, the death of the person in question occurred”, the investigators determined.
Before death occurred, it was determined that the victim had a cranio-cerebral trauma, right fronto-tempo parietal hematoma, with lateral cerebral edema. At that moment the injured person was in a coma.
It was found that there are indications of a possible causal link between the victim’s death and the hitting action exercised by the other man.
