A woman and a man lost their lives today, around noon, in a tragic traffic accident, after their car was hit by a tanker, in Prahova.

The accident happened near the town of Buda, on County Road 101.

A 52-year-old man was driving the car.

For now, the identity of the deceased passenger is not known.

Rescue crews, ambulance and police were mobilized to the scene.

An investigation is to clarify the exact circumstances in which the misfortune occurred.

“At around 11:00, the traffic policemen from the Ploiești Municipality Police were alerted to the fact that at the intersection of DJ 101i with the road connecting DN1, a road accident occurred resulting in the bodily injury of two people.

From the checks, it emerged that the impact took place between a special vehicle intended for the transport of dangerous goods driven by a 44-year-old man traveling on the Dn1 towards Buda and a car driven by a 52-year-old man traveling on the road what connects DN 1 and DJ 101i.

Following the road accident, despite the resuscitation maneuvers performed, the 52-year-old driver, who was driving the car, died, as well as his passenger. The driver of the special vehicle was tested with the breathalyzer, the result was negative. In the case, the investigations are being continued by the police within a criminal file opened under the aspect of committing the crime of manslaughter, the exact circumstances in which the road accident took place will be established“, stated IPJ Prahova.
