Deputy Focsa (AUR) assaulted his wife again, a protection order was issued. He had been expelled from AUR precisely for marital violence, but he was welcomed back

AUR deputy Dumitru Viorel Focsa physically assaulted his wife again. It is not the first time that the deputy behaves in this way towards his wife.

“On May 2nd, at around 02:20, policemen from the Navodari City Police were notified by a 51-year-old woman, regarding the fact that she had been physically assaulted by her husband, a man, 58 years old.

The police officers sent to the scene drew up a risk assessment form, after which it was found that there was an imminent risk, and a provisional protection order was issued.

In the case, a criminal investigation file was drawn up for committing the crime of domestic violence”, the Police announced.

Police sources told aktual24.ro that it is AUR deputy Dumitru Viorel Focsa.

Focsa was expelled from the party in 2023 after beating his wife, but after only a few months he rejoined the AUR parliamentary group.

Dumitru Viorel Focsa publicly admitted in January that he drank his wife whom he accused of “extreme jealousy”. This would have reproached him for giving likes on Facebook to scantily clad women. Focsa also said that after the incident, his wife ran “to the neighbor’s yard, a PSD member”, from where she called the police.

Although AUR then asked him to “respect his commitment” and give up his parliamentary mandate, Focsa did not comply with the request, and the party got over the moment of marital violence and accepted that he return to the parliamentary group, in November 2023.

“Starting today I will be a member of the National Identity Force and I will be part of the AUR group”, announced Focsa on Monday, in plenary.

“The National Management Office of AUR decided to exclude Dumitru Viorel Focsa from the party, after he physically assaulted his wife during a domestic scandal. The internal investigation undertaken by the Jury of Honor of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians established that the accusations that appeared in the public space following the scandal triggered at the home of the Focsa family are confirmed. The gesture committed by deputy Dumitru Viorel Focsa is incompatible with the quality of party membership and the dignity of a parliamentarian”, stated in an AUR press release published in January.

The party then asks the deputy to “respect his commitment” and give up his parliamentary mandate.

“AUR firmly rejects any form of domestic violence and dissociates itself from any person who practices, promotes or tolerates this kind of manifestation. In this way, we ask the parties and public organizations in Romania to follow the example we are giving today and publicly expose all cases of aggression against defenseless persons”, the AUR document also states.
