Today, May 2, we celebrate National Youth Day. On this occasion, the Prime Minister of Romania, Marcel Ciolacu, sends good wishes to all young people.

“Romania is celebrating its young people today, the generations to whom we will entrust the future. They were born in democracy, in democracy we want them to live even further. The enthusiasm with which they start life, specific to their age, needs the support of family, society and the state alike, and their formation as people and future professionals in the most diverse fields must start from a solid foundation.

Young people in Romania have a potential that we all recognize whenever their results are confirmed by international or national competitions. In addition to these examples, there are many other young Romanians who perform by proving responsibility in everything they do, in their studies, in their daily activities and in society. We must offer everyone equal chances in life and development prospects, including at the institutional level.

Personally, I have great faith in our young people and since taking office I have maintained a constant dialogue with their generation, through representative associations, on education, support and opportunities for young people, including through the government internship offer, aimed at familiarizing them, those who want this, with the decision-making process at the level of government and subordinate institutions.

I assure you of all my support, dear young people! The mix between the experience of older generations and the openness of young people to the new contributes to the development of any society, and I think this is what each of us wants for Romania. We will have confirmation that we have acted in the right direction if our young people draw their aspirations for their future here in Romania, and those who have already chosen a path outside the country’s borders will want to return home.

Happy birthday to all young Romanians! Like any parent or grandparent in Romania, I want you to continue what our generations started, confident in your own strengths and in the opportunities we are ready to offer you, through access to education and professional training, jobs and support for young people,” Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said.
